THE

WORD

BUILDER

INTRODUCTION

Since I was ten years old, I have been writing—building words—for the entertainment of others. Whether it be a talent, skill, or a gift, it helped me find employment with a daily newspaper when I was seventeen years old. That was the start of a still ongoing journey.

Since then, I have written off and on for both daily and weekly newspapers for most of my life. I also worked through the ranks of The Northern California Review of Business and Economics at Chico State University to ultimately become its (final) publisher.

In those days, I was mostly a reporter. Now, perhaps in my prime, I find myself writing mostly as a commentator and as a storyteller. It is that latter category in which I take the most pride. I hope you will enjoy reading at least some of the work you will find linked here. I certainly enjoy writing for you.
